10 Days of Renovation

We decided to renovate our shop during the holidays. Here are some pictures.

After we closed Friday night we moved everything out of the front of our shop to get ready for demolition the next morning!

Day 1—Demolition! Within three hours the walls, ceiling and floor were gone!

Day 2—Wall and ceiling framing and electrical rough-in.

Day 3—Christmas...no work!

Day 4—Closed half the walls and built the counter.

Day 5—Closed the walls and ceiling, tried different paint colors.

Day 6—Tiled the walls. This was slow going.

Day 7—Removed the grate (and continued tiling the walls).

Day 8—Painted the walls and ceiling and tiled the floor.

Day 9—The finishing touches.

Day 10—Finished the electrical work...massive clean up...just about there! (It was no easy feat moving our Coke machine from the back of the store into position.)

We couldn't have done any of this without our friend Chris...shown here getting ready to do some welding on our back door. Chris came up with the design, did all the architectural drawings and helped out big time during the renovation. Also, Chris' wife found us the contractor!
