Have any pizza with our 100% whole wheat crust! Our whole wheat crust is priced the same as an extra topping: $1.25 for medium, $1.50 for large and $1.75 for extra large. Select your pizza from our Classic, Gourmet, or Gourmet Vegetarian pies and ask for our whole wheat crust when you order.

After you eat our 100% whole wheat pizza you will feel full for longer than when you eat a pizza with a white bread crust. That’s because whole wheat is healthy. Refined starches, such as white bread, behave just like sugar. Refined starches get converted almost immediately to sugar and empty calories leaving you hungry. Whole wheat, by contrast, is digested slowly giving you a consistent energy level.

Whole wheat also has a good amount of fiber. So while your body is slowly converting some parts of your whole wheat crust to energy, the fiber never gets digested. Instead it does wonderful things on its way through your body that prevent heart disease and make your whole system run smoothly. Finally, whole wheat is rich in all sorts of vitamins and nutrients that are simply not present in refined flour—and these too get absorbed into your body.

You may be wondering about the connection between whole wheat and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are chains of sugar molecules. When you eat foods containing carbohydrates your body tries to break the carbohydrates down into individual sugar molecules. The problem with refined grains is they are comprised of carbohydrates that are quickly and easily broken down into sugar molecules. The result is empty calories.

Minimally processed grains, such as whole wheat, contain many carbohydrates that can only be slowly digested by your body, and others that can’t be digested at all. You get lasting energy and fiber (carbohydrates that are never digested) while minimizing empty calories. This is why whole grains help with weight control. It’s also why the USDA advises that half of the grain you eat should be whole grain, and guidelines from the Harvard School of Public Health suggest that nearly all of the grains you eat should be whole.
